Hank’s Oyster Bar opened up its location on the Wharf in 2017. They wanted to incorporate their delicious food with an awesome waterfront scenery! Let’s get into it:

  • Hank’s is right on the wharf connected to the boardwalk overlooking the water. Hank’s has outside seating that allowed me to take in the great sun and toast cocktails with friends! How could you not have a good time eating seafood right on the water on a sunny day?
  • The menu features a variety of options with seafood dominating. The eastern shore crab dip, oyster po’ boy, and seasonal barbecue chicken were calling my name over and over. Every spot on the wharf offers seafood, but I liked how Hank’s had non-seafood options that snapped just the same! Sadly, some people just can’t enjoy a Maryland crab cake due to their allergies. SUCKS!
  • The oysters came out quick and were hearty in size. I dress my oysters up with a scoop of cocktail sauce and a dash of horseradish. They lasted maybe 60 seconds on the table. I also had the seasonal barbecue chicken, which sadly is not on the menu right now. The chicken was perfectly grilled and seasoned by a true chef! I need to run this food date back ASAP! Sometimes you gotta just go get friends without your friends..

B.Good is known for their natural and clean ingredients. They support seasonal cooking and flavors! Let’s get into it:

  • B. Good offers a wide variety of options. Smoothies, sandwiches , and bowls take up most of the menu. The guacamole burger, sriracha chicken, and turkey medley all sounded delicious!
  • The guacamole burger was so darn good. It was extremely fresh and got better with every bite. The sweet potato fries were crisp. Even though the size of the burger was not that big, I didn’t leave still hungry! That’s always a plus. After I finished my food, I went home to reminisce about how much I want to go back..

Crimson Diner is a modern diner with a taste of southern life. This experience was a pleasant surprise! Let’s get into it:

Jambalaya
  • Crimson Diner’s ambiance was super smooth. Rooftop bar, diner style seating, and the café music all worked together. I was happy and comfy before we even ordered the food!
  • I felt like a kid in the candy store while looking at the menu! Menu items such as Jambalaya, Crimson Burger, and Steak Frites definitely caught my attention. Jambalaya wins my heart every time.
  • The jambalaya was filled with plump shrimp, andouille sausage, and grilled chicken. My taste buds were doing be happy dance after each bite. I could not get enough of it! I learned that my friends that I was eating with did not like jambalaya, so I did not have to give anyone a taste test. I was like…

As a young person on a budget, I can’t help but notice these fast food chains releasing new products! I picked a few that I heard a lot of buzz about from Burger King and Pizza Hut. Let’s get into it:

  • Let’s start with Pizza Hut. I ordered their stuffed Cheez-It pizza for $7. It tasted just as weird and mind-boggling as it sounds. It was very cheesy in the middle and reminded me of a mozzarella stick which isn’t bad. However… this Cheez-it crust starts playing with your taste buds. It was like someone giving me a Cheez-it and then it explodes with cheese. The marinara sauce helped and took away from the Cheez-it crust. Overall: 5/10
  • Burger King introduced their cheesy tots this year. Who doesn’t like tater tots? Then you add cheese? I am excited. Too bad Burger King unperformed. These were the most regular tots I have tasted LOL. They were a breaded tater tot with cheese in the middle, BUT I did not even taste the cheese (I guess that’s a good thing). It lacked flavor and was more bland than my grandfather’s crackers. Atleast they were only $1. Overall: Issa no from me dawg.
  • Lastly, Burger King introduced the “Impossible” whopper this year. I was excited to see how fast food will treat this vegan burger. My expectation was that it would be edible but bland. I was skeptical of how serious Burger King would take this. In reality, they SNAPPED. I have had a beef whopper before, and this was right in line with that. The flavors were pleasantly coming through! It was a big burger, so that made me happy that they did not skimp us. I most definitely would order this if I found myself in a Burger King line again. Overall: Torch!

Char’d City is a hot and new restaurant located in Baltimore, Maryland. A modern day Mom and Pop shop with a unique twist. I was obsessed with of this place and their potential to grow. Let’s get into it:

  • I fell in love with Char’d City’s ambiance. Their big wood-fired grill, stage for live music, and charming artwork makes this spot one of a kind. There was no dead space inside, so I was constantly amused by the intricate art pieces hanging on the walls. My vision sees them hosting poets, singers and pianists, and other creatives on their stage. Who doesn’t love good live entertainment with their meal?
  • Italian with a north African twist? Does it work? Will it taste good? Hell yes it works! I was stunned after being ambushed by such flavor coming from their Brik rolls and Tajine el Bey. The farm to table vibe was really exposed when I bite into the Brik roll, and I could taste how fresh the potatoes and tuna was! The Tajine aka Tunisian-style quiche was amazing, and the lamb was seasoned to perfection.
  • Can we have a moment of silence for this Charm City Pie?….. It was a simple pie with mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, garlic, etc.. HOWEVER, they went crazy and slapped some blue crab on the pie. This was sooooo fire. When they placed this beauty on the table, I immediately looked like..
